Easy Fudge Brownies

Homemade brownies sounded AMAZING, but the problem was I have never made them! Say what? Never made homemade brownies? What kind of cooking blog is this? It's true, talk about confession; our family has always need lazy with brownies, we LOVE brownie mixes and just always use those. It was late and the store was about to close so we couldn't run and grab a mix. So, I took to my ANCIENT Better Homes and Garden's cook book that is practically disintegrating and put it to good use. (It was a wedding present at my parent's wedding over 40 years ago! They let me borrow it).

I found a simple Fudge Brownie recipe and it was AMAZING! The perfect rich fudge brownies!
Seriously DELICIOUS! I can't wait to keep using this recipe instead of a mix. A little bit more work, but it has such a richer taste.


Easy Fudge Brownies

1/2 c. Butter
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate bakers squares
1 c. Sugar 
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
3/4 c. Flour

Preheat oven to 350. 

In a medium sauce pan melt butter and chocolate. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla. Stir in the flour and mix well. 
Spread in a greased 8x8 pan. 
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Be careful not to overbake.
Cool completely and cut into squares! Delish!
